Meet the Therapist

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Kepple, LMSW, founder of Starfish Therapy.

I’m a licensed master social worker under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Vasquez, LCSW-S, providing therapy for teens, young adults, and parents navigating life’s challenges. My experience includes crisis intervention, psychiatric care, and community mental health— work that has shaped my passion for creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen and understood.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in both heart and evidence-based practices. I believe therapy is about meeting you where you are, helping you make sense of the chaos, and supporting you as you move towards healing and growth.

When you come to Starfish Therapy, you’ll find an inviting space where your story matters.

About Starfish Therapy

Why Starfish Therapy Exists

I created Starfish Therapy because I know what it feels like to struggle in silence. As a teenager and young adult, I faced my own battles with mental health. I often felt unseen, unheard, and without a safe place to turn. Those experiences shaped me—and they also planted the seed for the therapist I’ve become today.

I became a social worker because I wanted to give others what I never had: a safe, welcoming space where your story is heard, validated, and honored. Starfish therapy is about meeting people where they are, offering compassion and guidance, and walking alongside you as you navigate life’s hardest lessons.

The Story Behind the Name

The name Starfish Therapy comes from the starfish story. In the story, thousands of starfish are stranded on the beach, A girl begins throwing them back into the ocean, one by one. When asked why she bothers—since she can’t possibly save them all—she tosses another into the waves and says, “it mattered to that one.”

The story reflects what I believe about therapy. I know I can’t take away all the pain in the world. But I can make a difference for the person in front of me. And in your journey, you matter.

At Starfish Therapy, I hold space for your story—no matter how heavy, chaotic, or overwhelming it feels—because you healing matters here.
